Meet Max & Anna

For us, Pet Wants has always been about more than pet food.

We’re Max and Anna Zugan, the local owners behind Pet Wants Hilton Head, New Riverside, and Coligny. As dog owners ourselves, we know how much our pets become part of the family. We wanted to build a business around helping people give their pets the best lives possible with better nutrition, better products, and advice from people they can actually know and trust.

What drew us to Pet Wants was the focus on fresh, high-quality pet food and a more personal approach to pet nutrition. But over the years, we’ve made the business our own. We’ve expanded beyond our original store, opened our own local kitchen where we make many of our treats and products right here in Bluffton, and grown to three locations serving Bluffton and Hilton Head Island.

One of our favorite parts of owning a small business is getting to know the people and pets who walk through our doors. We’ve watched puppies grow up, helped customers navigate changing nutritional needs, celebrated birthdays and gotcha days, and built friendships with people who started out simply as customers.

We also believe strongly in keeping things local. When you shop with us, you’re supporting a local family, our employees, and a business that reinvests right back into the community we all call home.

We’re proud of what we’ve built, excited about where we’re going, and incredibly thankful for every person (and every four-legged customer) who has been part of the journey.
